Name: Midge
Birthday: 10/23/1985

Interests: Classics and the like, take my name. The Thracians had a stigma against them for being non Athenian and non Spartan. But they just wanted to protect what was theirs, and Acron wrote poetry about the hate he felt for them and how he enjoyed killing. Pretty sad, isn't it?
Expertise: love is horrible. It makes you vulnerable. It tears your heart and lets someone get inside you and destroy everything. You build up armor so nothing can hurt you. Then one person wanders in your life. You give them a piece of you. They don't ask. And they do something dumb one day like kiss you and your life isn't your own anymore.Love takes hostage. It gets inside you It eats you from the inside out and leavesyou crying so a phrase like 'its not you, its me' or 'we should just be friends' is a splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the mind or the imagination. It's a soul-hurt,a real getsinsideyouandripsyouapart pain.I hate love

I'm homesick.

Tuesday, August 01, 2006

wow, long time no update! Finally have internet again, yay! Don't know what happened at middleshade, but it was pretty shit with no net. ANYWAY, my land lord decided to be a dick and kicked us out of the house, so we all had one week to find a new place to live. Lucky for me, I have amazing friends! I better start at the beginning:

I'm working up at the Bay Hotell Resort and Spa owned by the Fairmont group. I'm making craploads of money (£1,200 to date) and its pretty cool. I'm now pretty much head waitress and have brought in the biggest tips to date for the golf Clubhouse (where I work) so that is cool. Some guy handed me 40 quid yesterday, get in! I also double as a bar maid there if the need arises. Had a few snags cause, lets face it, I don't like whisky and all the different things in that bar... I don't know what half of them are... but I have learned how to make one hell of a Cappachino... and can sucessfully float a caffe latte, so I am not to bothered! Still no coctail training, but they wouldn't since I'm just summer help. Dago, my manager, said he will keep me on for weekends after the semester starts so there is some cool cash coming my way. The only downside is the hours because I'm good at what I do. For example, I worked a wedding reception (on the bar with my boyfriend, Campbell) and then had a 9am start the next day. I don't even know WHAT time I got home, just that I had to get up and had a big lunch to sort out the next morning. jolly fun. anyway, Gemma has given me possibly the coolest place to live in the world. Hope Street is one of the most sought after streets in all of Britain to live on... I mean I'm 2 doors down from where Prince William use to live! Its ace, I have the most MASSIVE beddroom, SKY tv (cable) in my bedroom, on my plasma screen tv, and wireless internet. to boot, this is a 4 story house, with 2 kitchens and 6 different bathrooms. and Gemma and I have it all to our lucky selves... anyone fancy a visit? I have a king sized bed, how ace is that? also have someone to do my laundry and clean my room. all this for only £400 a month. that may sound like LOADS, but it is a total steal for here... I was paying £70 a week at Middleshade, not including bills. This is everything AND it is about a 5 second walk from Tesco and the Raisin, so I have everyrthing I need right here. just having loads of fun really... After I moved in today Lorraine, Alan, Cam, Roy and Jenn came round and we got SO lost in this place!!! we decided to have a hide and seek game one night, such a good place for it. I don't think I'm going to leave here, nope nope nope! Its only a bit more expensive than where I'm living in september, so I'm thinking I'll just toss in the like 10 quid a week and stay here if I can. so in love with this place it is unreal. so its just me in a king sized bed with pookie.

anywho, thats me signing out for tonight, I'm shattered!!!

hello all! Yes, I have disapeared but only because I have been working to much for my liking and also, my internet has died at my house. I couldn't tell you how or why, but it refuses to be fixed!

My summer is going amazing well aside from that. my RAF boy decided to go date some fat chick on the side, so all things were better that he is no longer in my life. Soon after, a guy named Stuart Ian Campbell I met whilst I was on the summer studdies 3 years ago has come back into my life and we have started our friendship right where we left off. all things considered, it is the best part of my time here with Lyns and Zoe off traveling the world! We have started seeing each other and it is very relaxed and natural. However, all his friends call him Campbell, and well, since his name seems to be tripple last names... I have decided to call him Cam. It seemed odd to call the guy I'm seeing by his last name, but his first is no  better. And his middle name is his fathers, so that wouldn't work either. This seems a plesant compramise, but people are starting to pick up on it. Not sure if I should be happy or disconcerted.

Amy's pregnency is  beginning to show at an alarming extent, and we found out it is a little boy named Conner. However, my friend Isaac (who is madly in love with ym friend Ini) is turning out to be something of a competition for him. Whenever Ini's name is mentioned, he starts to kick violently. Isaac told Conner he could not have her and Amy was left to decide if she wanted to vomit first or wee due to the temper tantrum he threw. It is now a constant source of ammusement to talk about Ini in frond of him, because he decides to press  his foot upwards so we can see the wee imprint! Amy says it is his way of flipping us the bird because we couldn't see it otherwise, and knowing it is Amy and Rob's child, it doesn't supprise me in the lease!

that is just about all, Olivia and i are having a girly day with pride and prejudice, icecream, and hopefully alot of laughs! Working at the bay, I have run into many of the customers that remember me and have been forced into inpromptu tours of the town. Not that I mind, I would probably have neded up walking about anyway, and it saves me from spending money in a pub or renting films.

By the way, my hair is now black.

did I mention happy engagement to the Panda and Danny???

Essay

had a word with my tutor about my essay...

looked like he was gonna shit himself when I told him you capitalize genre's. take THAT bitch... up up up goes my classics grade!!! I'm so gonna get into honours if I just buckle down and translate some Latin. but oh how I hate translating Latin! how I hate memorizing it for freakin exams... so not fair.

IN OTHER NEWS Rob is coming up today. haha. yay.

OVER AT NEW HALL Ini will have finished her dissertation by now... dude, 30,000 words plus a lab book with all her notes and results, SO glad I am doing a double major, its worth it to not have to do that, I tell you what. On the one hand, it would be nice to have that to show for your work at the end of your time at uni, but dude, I don't know if I'm quite ready to sit in a library and not move for 5 months like she has done. well, she was in a lab, but I'm a lit major. no, I'm to attached to debating with know-it-all post grad students. When I do research something.... I don't make mistakes. I just can't be bothered to do it properly when it doesn't go into my final degree grade yet. Next year I will be on Market street, right near the library, so I'm gonna know all the security guards by name and how their kids are doing again like last year. I'm getting this british study thing down, though. I like.

DOWN TO FUN Rugby 7's this weekend. I love Rugby men. I thought  a news report thing would prove diverting.
